Zoo Fun

The weather has been so, so beautiful and I couldn't resist resist taking advantage of it this morning.  So, I convinced the hubs that we had to get out and do something and we decided on the zoo.  That's my favorite thing about Blake's job....he sets his own schedule and can almost always join us when we ask him to.  Anyway, it fun day and we have pictures to prove it.  iPhone pics, but pics none the less.

Irises always remind me of my Grandma A.

Surprisingly, Griffin wasn't scared of the goats.

And even more surprisingly, neither was Kinley.

I love the lorikeets...

...until they pee on me.

Griff wasn't so sure.

Kinley was terrified.

I love our zoo.

The kids had fun playing in the river.

They were both soaking wet at this point.

Tuesday Tidbits

I think we've finally toughened up Griffin.  Finally turned him into a rough housing Chambers boy.  When Griffin first came home Blake would try to wrestle around with him (very gentle 1 year old style) and Griffin would freak out.  He hated it.  After about 5 or 6 months he would tolerate some rough housing but was pretty whiny about it.  Flash forward to Sunday....Blake form tackled (very gentle almost two year old style) and Griffin just giggle, jumped up, and went for more.  He's finally one of us. :)

Our problem with Griffin freaking out in his Sunday school class is not getting better.  This last Sunday Blake dropped him off while I was dropping off Kinley and Blake said Griff was hysterical.  About 10 minutes into the service Blake received a text that said Griffin was still really upset.  When Blake went to check on him, Griffin was inconsolable.  Blake spent the rest of the service in Griffin's class.  We don't know what to do....

Time change + very rainy days + spring break = kids sleeping in = happy me!

We spent a lot of time at the park last week and here's my favorite pic from our fun.

First Soccer Game

Kinley's first soccer game was today and it was a success.  Everyone had a great time, including Kinley, and we won.  We waited a while for the game to start and I thought Kinley was going to quit before we even started but once her team gathered and Coach Earle got them going, she was ready to roll.

Kinley hustled, was energetic, and the smile never left her face.  She chatted with the fans on the opposite side of the field and they were kind and cheered and clapped for her.  She stole the ball once and just had tons of fun.  It was an awesome time!

Let's do this!

Huddle up!

That smile never left her face.

Go, Kinley!  Go!!!

Chatting with Daddy.

Yep.  That just happened.

Kick it, Cale!

Lining up...waiting for the ball.

Do more.  Be more.

I'm so, SO proud of my girl.

Tuesday Tidbits

I would just like to start out by saying that it's really difficult to type when 16 of your keys on your keyboard aren't really attached.  See this post if you're confused.

The weather is insanely gorgeous right now and will be all week.  I feel like we didn't really have a winter.  In fact, I know we didn't.  I think I'm ok with that.

Today was Dad and Donuts at Kinley's school and I have to admit, I was a little jealous of the fun that Kinley and Blake had this morning.  Donuts and the book fair?  Perfect!

Both Kinley and Griffin's vocabulary is EXPLODING right now.  Griffin has so many more words than Kinley did at his age.  Kinley was a little speech delayed so it's exciting to see her being able to communicate what she really wants.  And that girl is funny!  And Griffin....he doesn't believe that silence is golden.

My mom is trying to win a cruise with Blake Shelton.
Yup.

My mom spent the weekend with us this last weekend.  We shopped all day Saturday, just her and I, and it was so fun.  Then she stayed home with both sick kiddos so that Blake and I could go to church.  The kids (and especially Blake and I) were sad to see her go.  Things are so much more fun when Grandma's around.

Not Happy

Dearest Hyeon-wu...

This does not make me happy.

The End.

P.S. I still love you to the moon and back.

A Day Outside

The weather has been unseasonably warm all winter and today was no exception.  We took advantage and played until the kids could play no more.

First Soccer Practice

YESTERDAY Kinley was really excited about her first year of soccer.  TODAY Kinley didn't get a nap at school and by the time her 6:00 PM soccer practice rolled around.....well, she wasn't feeling it.

Practice started out like this...

Wowzer.

When we got to the practice area there was a neighborhood pond that some kids were fishing at.  Kinley forgot all about soccer and ALL she wanted to do was fish.  Combine that with the no nap day and all you get out of that girl is DRAMA.

Finally, after some bribing coaxing she decided she wanted to join in on the fun.

I'd like to give a shout out to Assistant Coach Earle.  I've known Earle for a while now and I think he's an OK guy :) but he was awesome with the kids tonight.  Especially Kinley.  She was actin' a fool and he snapped her out of it.  She relates to silliness!
